After starting after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the fire has been deemed contained two days later, according to the Craig Interagency Dispatch Center.

The Big Gulch Fire that has been burning over the last two days in Moffat County is contained, according to the Craig Interagency Dispatch Center.
The estimated size of the fire is still 1,161 acres, a number learned after aerial mapping on Thursday. An update from the Moffat County Sheriff's Office on Thursday said to expect crews to be in the area for the next several days checking for hot spots around the burn area.
